After visiting a client, I explored the beautiful neighbourhood of Holland Park, which never fails to inspire my work. Its elegant streets and lush greenery provide a refreshing backdrop for creative ideas.
I began my day with a coffee at L’ETO, a charming café known for its delicious pastries and inviting atmosphere. Sitting outside, I enjoyed the morning sun and took in the lively scene around me -families, joggers, and residents catching up, all adding to the neighbourhood’s vibrant energy.
Wandering through Holland Park, I was captivated by the stunning gardens and the unique architecture of the surrounding homes. The mix of classic Victorian and contemporary designs sparked ideas about how to blend different styles in my upcoming projects. I made notes on colour combinations that reflect the natural beauty of the park, particularly the rich greens and soft floral hues.
I couldn’t resist a visit to the Holland Park School of Art gallery, which often showcases local artists. The current exhibition featured some striking contemporary pieces that resonate with modern design sensibilities. It’s always refreshing to see how art can enhance a space, and I jotted down some ideas for integrating local art into our projects.
On my way back, I stopped by The Rug Company and The Design Museum Shop. This little gem is packed with innovative design items and books that provide endless inspiration. I picked up a couple of interesting home decor pieces that I think will be great additions to my design toolkit.
Overall, my day in Holland Park was a perfect mix of inspiration and community. The beauty of the area, coupled with its rich artistic vibe, reminds me of the importance of place in design. I’m looking forward to bringing some of that Holland Park charm into our future projects.
