The Grade II listed house in Hampstead was renovated prior to our client buying it and much of the original character had been stripped away. Our client was very keen to reinstate many original period architectural features and refurbish and redecorate the house sympathetically. This two-phased project included refurbishment of the kitchen diner, formal dining room, sitting room, the lower ground floor annexe was redesigned internally as a multi purpose space. The ongoing project is also involving the refurbishment of the pool and gym.
The annexe rooms were transformed from cold, stark white spaces to more inviting spaces housing a virtual golf screen, cinema and party room/bar. Using a pallet of golds, bronzes and greys, the room is dominated by two large chandeliers from Timothy Oulton. The large fully upholstered wall cabinets house equipment for the golf and cinema.
The furniture from Minotti provides a large, comfortable seating area, and the Julian Chichester Palazzo Aged mirror mounted on the carbonised wood textured panelling adds a touch of glamour.
The bar shelving is backed in antique mirror, and the column is also clad in mirror.
The beautiful bar was created by Vitruvius using Cosmic Black Marble. The Pewter Leaf wallpaper from Phillip Jeffries flows from the bar into the corridor.
Gold Lurex netting fabric from Dedar replaces the black golf ball netting to provide a luxurious curtain/canopy to protect the room from balls, that complemented the upholstery on the wall units.
BRID sourced images of the New York skyline which was superimposed onto a pair of door panels to provide a wonderful back drop to the space when the golf screen doors are closed.
The New York skyline is a stunning feature at night.
Moroccan Black fossil marble lines the walls of the corridor to the party room. The backlit image of the Chrysler building provides a stunning focal point at the end of the corridor.
The beautiful bay window is dressed with curtain fabric from Sahco, with contemporary, brushed bronze Walcot House curtain poles. The Minotti chairs and footstool provide a comfortable seating area.
A new Chesney’s Fireplace was installed to reflect the original plaster detailing of the Living room. The Platinum David Rockwell ‘Rug Company’ silk rug and sofa from Minotti provide a soft, calm atmosphere within the space. Joinery by Boffe Designs houses audio and visual equipment and bronze handles were hand made by Ged Kennet. Complimentary scatter cushions in Rubellli, Andrew Martin and Dedar fabrics add texture and interest. The Urban Anello pendant light fitting in brushed bronze adds a contemporary touch.
